Paper Cranes For Japan

It's very easy to find and upload one just like this.

Imagine if it Was You

I cannot even begin to imagine how it feels to live in Japan right now where the death toll is 10,000 and rising. I am overwhelmed with sorrow for those people in those cities who were just washed away in a terrible Tsunami and not yet found. Entire cities populated with over 9500 people who are unaccounted for. I feel deep sympathy for the families of these people who don’t know where their loved ones are or even if they are alive. Not knowing is so much worse than knowing the worst. But we have to come together in a time of great need such as this.

Everyone who has a Facebook page can contribute to the cause at virtually no cost. Yes, you can help without spending a dime. I don’t have a job right now and times are very hard for my family but I so desire to help those people that are half way across the world. This is a way that I found that I can help and a way that so many others who are not in a financial position to donate can also help.

There is a website called DOSOMETHING.ORG and they are appealing to the people across the United States to share their love and support for the Japanese people with “Paper Cranes for Japan”. It is very simple all you have to do is this:

· Find and upload a photo of an origami paper crane or make your own and upload a picture of it

· Upload the photo along with a message of support to the facebook page (www.facebook.com/PaperCranesForJapan)

That is it! You have just helped to support the cause. It doesn’t seem like much but every little bit helps in a time of crisis such as this. I plead that you too will feel it in your heart to take the time to follow these simple steps and help those in need. Thank you for reading and more importantly thank you for helping!

Thanks for sharing this... I was not aware of this cool idea... Good on you mate... The Japanese SAR team dropped everything and came to Christchurch to help find bodies. They won a lot of respect from kiwis, including me. Cheers.

(Disclaimer: I am an employee at kikin)

Here's another way to help that is free!

To aid the relief and emergency efforts, kikin (a browser add-on) will be making a contribution for every new download from now until April 30th by visiting http://www.kikin.com/dl/?p=japan.

We believe it can build up to a large sum. Call us an odd start-up, but we truly believe in giving back. We want to help out as much as possible so we will not be setting a limit to how much we contribute.

You can find out more about what kikin does here: http://www.kikin.com/features
